Yes, all of our products are Reef Safe. We believe we go beyond the simplistic catchphrase of 'reef safe' by encompassing all elements of our products, from materials and packaging to the transparency of our communication surrounding ingredients we use. Our SPF 50 Mineral Sunscreen is TGA registered and is a primary sunscreen.

Our tinted zinc sticks are not TGA registered. They are classified as secondary or cosmetic sunscreens and have a primary function of tinting the skin, with a secondary function of providing SPF. Despite the classification, they have been tested to the same Australian Sunscreen standard as all TGA listed sunscreens. The difference is that they are not made in a TGA registered manufacturing facility. They are made with love by us in our own small lab.

No zinc or sunscreen is completely waterproof and will need to be reapplied throughout the day if you are exposed to the sun. However, our zinc formulas are made with either plant-based candelilla wax or beeswax, which create a natural & effective water resistance.

Our Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 is water resistant for 2 hours. Our tinted zinc balms are water resistant by nature, as they are thick and contain naturally water repellant ingredients.

Zinc oxide sits on top of the skin providing physical barrier protection. This means that the barrier can be disturbed by touching, towelling or any other contact.

We recommend you reapply all SPF products every two hours if you are in the sun, to ensure that you are always covered.

Yes. Our products are all 100% Palm Oil Free. We are currently undergoing assessment to become an officially certified Palm Oil Free brand.

We do everything within our power to help preserve the vital rainforests and Orangutan habitat that is often destroyed in palm oil production. There are plenty of alternatives to palm oil, and while they may be harder to source and more expensive, we stick to our values and invest in these.

The TGA recommends that every sunscreen product is reapplied every 2 hours minimum, and especially after sports, swimming or towel drying regardless of the water resistant claim.

Zinc forms a physical barrier that sits on top of the skin, and as such it can de disturbed by touching, wiping, changing clothes or towelling. That is why it is important to keep re-applying if you are exposed to the sun throughout the day.

All products except for our Surf Balm are 100% vegan.

Our Tinted Surf Balm uses our Original Formula from 2018, and contains cruelty free beeswax for superior water resistance and elemental protection.

Our Zinc Sticks, Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 & Oil Cleanser are all 100% vegan.

We do offer samples for our Tinted Face Zinc so that you can ensure the tint is suitable for you before purchasing a full product. You can buy these samples here.

Unfortunately the TGA does not allow sampling of registered products, so we cannot offer Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 samples.
